Advertising of Properties ;
On Jan 9th 2013 the above legislation was amended by SI 243 of 2012.
The main difference is that it is now illegal to advertise a property (sale or rental) without displaying the energy rating on the advertisement.
Building Control Officers have also been given the power to spot-check owners and their agents, demanding to see a printed copy of the BER Certificate "there and then."
These provisions were introduced in Regulations 11,12 and 13 of the new legislation. Penalty for failure to comply is a Class A fine (up to €5000)
